Hintons is in its fifth generation as a family business and has been based in Leominster, North Herefordshire through this time. The first shop was set up in Rainbow St in 1888 followed by shops in Broad St and now currently trades in Worcester Road, Leominster.
Seed potatoes, sugar beet and fertilizers were delivered by the freight trains and distributed from there. A mill was set up producing animal feeds, coarse mixes, rolled cereals and there was a large grain dryer which would run for up to 16 hours a day. Up to 1000 tons of fertilizers were in stock at any one time.
The shop as we know it now was opened in 1990 and in the year 2000 the mill and grain store were closed. In 2010 the extension was added to create the current shop and warehouse which you see today.
